Makeda’s Cookies Will Honor Young Dolph By Naming Cookie After Him

As the city of Memphis remains to mourn the death of Young Dolph, Makeda’s has ultimately reopened its downtown location and confirmed on Tuesday that it will name its amazing chocolate chip cookie after the Paper Route Empire CEO.

Makeda’s operations manager Raven Winton expressed to local station WREG News Channel 3 that, “He used to get off that expressway and be like, ‘I could smell y’all getting off the expressway, I had to come in! Man, to know that we’re not gonna see that face anymore is – I’m sorry, I’m trying to hold back tears right now.”

“He supported us in life & death… you can’t get any realer than that…,” Makeda’s shared a post on Instagram next to a photo of Young Dolph. “We can’t thank him enough for the love and support he’s shown over the years. @youngdolph will forever be in our hearts… in our thoughts…in our story…We will continue to do good in the community as #YoungDolph would have liked… Thank you for the impact you had on the lives of many including OURS… SALUTE.”

As we previously reported, Makeda’s cookies created a go fund me and has accumulated over $72,000. This comes as the company is letting workers take as much time off as they need, to emotionally recuperate. They also plan to continue to compensate them, during this time.

A week ago, Makeda’s also shared a video of Dolph promoting their business. This was after he bought many of his favorite cookies. Makeda’s is in Dolph’s native South Memphis area.

According to the companies Instagram they are set to reopen the location Dolph was killed at in January of 2022.
