According to The Courier-Journal, the incident report lists Breonna Taylor’s name, the date of the incident, and location but it lacks her home address and birth date. Her injuries were also listed as none despite the fact that she was shot eight times after LMPD officers fired 22 shots in her home without announcing their presence. The three officers involved in her death Sgt. Jon Mattingly,47; Myles Cosgrove, 42; and Brett Hankinson,44 as “Offenders” but the details about what transpired before and after the fatal shooting are non-existent.
The four-page report states that a ‘PIU Investigation” took place but there were no details. After news of the report’s lack of details was revealed to the public, Mayor Greg Fischer called it “unacceptable.”
“Full stop. It’s issues like this that erode public confidence in LMPD’s ability to do its job, and that’s why I’ve ordered an external top-to-bottom review of the department,” he said. “I am sorry for the additional pain to the Taylor family and our community.”
