Long Island Mother Says She Is Being Terrorized By Racist Neighbor: ‘He Has Said He Can Get Me Erased’
A Long Island mother can’t seem to be at peace due to her racist neighbor. Jennifer McLeggen of Valley Stream told local news outlets that after three years of tensions between her and next-door neighbors, she’s now being terrorized by one man who has thrown feces and even a dead squirrel onto her yard!

Things have gotten so bad that she keeps a large note on her front door explaining that she lives in fear, “in case something happens” to her. “If I die in here, at least cops would see the sign,” she said.
McLeggen also said that the neighbor has even worn blackface and intimidated her with BB guns and threats. “He has said he can get me erased. I’ve heard him say I don’t know who he knows, I can get eliminated,” McLeggan said.
The registered nurse who is a single mom admits when she first moved in her property she was unable to properly maintain it because she was pregnant at the time and was working full-time. But, she managed to save money and has spent thousands of dollars to clean up. However, she claims the harassment has only escalated — with a blow torch taken to her home and BBs shot through her back yard, CBS News reports.
“I feel like I’m terrorized. It’s a nightmare living next to him,” McLeggan said.
Nassau police claim they’ve responded to a total of 45 complaints between McLeggan and the father and son next door. They’ve not yet found criminality, but say they have offered protection to McLeggan and mediation between the neighbors.
“At this time, we do not have any evidence of any bias, but that does not mean that it is not there. We have more work to do. But we want to get out in front of this,” Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said.
McLeggan still does not feel safe. However, community members have decided to step up to rally around her. A GoFundMe page has even been created following outpour of support for McLeggan.
