Lizzo is reminding everyone just how much hate she gets for just being herself and loving her body.
The songstress has been trying her best to protect her peace on and offline. Just recently, fans noticed that she put her social media accounts on private to limit comments. However, she’s admitting that the negative trolls are still getting to her. As previously mentioned, in a since-deleted Twitter post uploaded on Thursday (May 25), the “About Damn Time ” artist stated that “The amount of slander & hate I’m receiving on a daily basis is starting to confuse me.” She then questioned, “What am I actively doing to get this influx of disrespect in my mentions?” Trying to come on this app & enjoy social media like everyone else.”
In another post, she said, “Anyways I been holding my tongue cus I don’t wanna seem ungrateful but I’ve done so much cool sh*t these last few weeks just for my mentions to be about how fat I am &/or use me for political discourse.” She added that she’s simply “tired of this.” While she’s been trying her best to focus on the positive things being said about her it seems like it’s understandably hard to shake the hate off. As pointed out by Billboard, this Wednesday, Lizzo shared a screenshot of a tweet where a user shared a video of the Grammy winner dancing onstage and mocked her for her size. She wrote, “I JUST logged on and the app and this is the type of s–t I see about me on a daily basis.” She went on to say,” It’s really starting to make me hate the world,” the musician continued.
“Then someone in the comments said I eat ‘lots of fast food.’ I LITERALLY STOPPED EATING FAST FOOD YEARS AGO… I’m tired of explaining myself all the time and I just wanna get on this app w/out seeing my name in some bulls–t,” Billboard quotes. The Love definitely do not outweigh the Hate on social media… all because I’m fat????” and “Y’all don’t know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F–KING FARM…” she added.
“I literally NEVER search my name this stuff just comes up on my TL & my FYP it’s wild,” the star also tweeted earlier today. “I swear I just wanna look at dance videos and science news and this s–t comes in every day…”
As annoying and frustrating as this for Lizzo, fans are just as bothered by the disrepect she’s been getting. Here’s how social media has been reacting to the negativity while also sending the singer some encouraging words.
As a person that was on a talk show giving opinions.. I had to learn how to handle negative and hateful remarks.. meditation really helps to control your mind and learn compassion to give yourself peace… pic.twitter.com/wy8oxdw2vx

I wish y'all would just be honest and say what really bothers y'all about Lizzo. She makes you feel bad because you've lived your whole life attaching yourself worth to thinness and to see her live bold and talented in a big Black body bothers you.

I grew up fat.
It is what it is.
Being fat doesn’t make us immobile. Being fat doesn’t mean we aren’t active. Lizzo and many fat ppl can dance, lift, swim, all while breathing regularly better than anyone else. We’re healthy and we’re fat. Get over it. Keep shaking the world. pic.twitter.com/aJD4PKBsqJ— Peaches' Mama (@kayelcee901) May 31, 2023
