Lil Nas X Gives An Update on His Love Life: “I’m Dating Someone Right Now”
As Lil Nas X graces the 11th edition of Carine Roitfeld’s publication, the “Old Town Road” artist reflects on his overnight success in a candid cover story.

While talking with the magazine, the 21-year-old star admits that he’s still trying to adjust to fame. “Sometimes I’m laughing about it, sometimes I’m crying about it,” he said adding, “I’m still discovering the magnitude of it all,” PEOPLE Magazine quotes. Lil Nas X, who came out as gay last year, also talked about what it was like coming out to his family, revealing that his dad “said some very Christian things” including that his homosexuality “could be the devil tempting” him.
Despite that, he’s still pushing forward in his career and love life. The chart-topping entertainer revealed to CR, “I’m dating someone right now. We’re not in a relationship yet, but it’s been on and off for the past few months. I’m maybe going to try to go steady this time.” Lil Nas X went on to say, “I feel like if I put any guy solo in a picture with me, we’re automatically dating,” the star joked. “One time, I was sitting in Subway with my brother, and then a few hours later there was [a headline], ‘Lil Nas X and his boyfriend eating Subway to celebrate 17 weeks at number one,’” PEOPLE Magazine quotes.
The new issue with the full cover story of CR Men will be on newsstands Oct. 9 along with other global covers featuring a diverse group of change-makers including singer Teyana Taylor, designer Telfar Clemens, actress Shira Haas and models and activists Halima Aden and Sharon Alexie.
