It’s been a pretty great year for rapper Latto and it looks like it just got even better! Forbes has released its 30 Under 30 list and the superstar is a part of this year’s class!
“It’s a big deal,” Latto said of being included in the lineup. While looking back on her career and talking about her future, Latto discusses what her future looks like. While she plans to drop more great music, she’s also gearing up to launch her very first business.
During her sit-down interview with Forbes’ Kristin Stroller the “Big Energy” revealed that her dream business and music collaboator. “Riri”, she quickly said. She went on to explain to Stroller, “I just feel like she touched our generation in a whole different way. I feel like women like me who have like a little motion going on … she showed us that it’s possible for us to take it to a whole different level. So definitely Riri… what’s up Riri call me girl!
Latto went on to reflect on the other megastars who she collaborated with in the past like the legendary Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, and Lil Wayne. “I feel like anything can happen.”

Latto, born Alyssa Michelle Stephens first appeared on Jermaine Dupri’s reality television series The Rap Game in 2016, where she was known as Miss Mulatto and won the show’s first season. After rejecting the record deal offered as a result of winning the show, she still stayed focused with her music.
After staying consistent, she recorded her first hit single in 2019 titled “Bitch from da Souf,” and since then she has taken the music world by storm.
Latto received tons of nominations throughout her career so far. She snagged noms for Best New Hip Hop Artist at the 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards and Top Rap Female Artist at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. She was a part of the XXL Freshman Class in 2020 and won the BET Award for Best New Artist in 2022.
The 24-year-old also received nominations for Best New Artist, Video For Good, and Best Hip Hop at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards and took home a win for Song of the Year for her hit “Big Energy.” In addition to being nominated for Hip Hop Album of the Year at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards for 777, she has recently been nominated for Best New Artist at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
