Latto took to her “777 Radio” show on Apple Music to address claims that she Photoshopped her recent Instagram photos from her Coachella set.
The “Big Energy” rapper, who also debuted her new single, “Put It On The Floor,” at the festival, performed on both weekends. But she left a lot of people critiquing the pics she uploaded to her IG page, with people noticing some of the fans in the crowd seemed to appear multiple times in several of the shots. When you have 10 million followers, of course, people are going to pinpoint every single detail to the photo, but Latto firmly defended herself, saying she didn’t Photoshop the photos.
While discussing the backlash with her sister Brooklyn Nicole, she quizzed her sibling, “How do you feel about them saying my Coachella pictures was Photoshopped?” Nicole responded by pointing out that Latto’s performance was filmed, and people can clearly see how packed the crowd was while she was putting on her show. “So, baby, it’s clear that it’s not a Photoshop situation.” Latto and her sister went on to say that people just like to act “dumb.”
Further during their chat, the 24-year-old said that she doesn’t see herself rapping forever, mentioning that she also has other things she’s passionate about, which appear to include acting. “I don’t want to rap forever. Like, literally, one of my biggest inspirations as far as business goes is Rihanna, like, young black girl getting to the bag. I do music in my free time, when I want to.”
Social media were quick to react to the Coachella photos Latto had posted on her Instagram, with many trying to figure out why she would allegedly edit the pics to make it seem as if the audience was bigger than what it was.
The claim seemed off given that even in video footage posted online, it’s clear as day that Latto was performing to a packed crowd. But one also can’t deny the fact that there did seem to be some editing going on in the pics she decided to upload on her Instagram page.
Whatever the case, she responded to the accusations on her Story, writing, “Never photoshopped a crowd lmao. I expanded it so it would fit in my Instagram swipe without getting cut off but it was clearly f—ed up so I didn’t end up using it & just posted the wrong version by accident on Twitter babes.”
