Kyrie Irving Producing TV Special Seeking Justice For Breonna Taylor
Brooklyn Nets player Kyrie Irving is producing a TV special seeking justice for Breonna Taylor, the 26-year-old black emergency medical technical who was shot and killed in her bed by Louisville, KY police in the early hours of March 13.
Additionally, the program is titled ‘#SayHerName: Breonna Taylor‘ and will premiere on Wednesday, July 8 at 7 PM ET on PlayersTV, a digital and broadcast network. During this special, specific calls for action — like phone calls to the offices of city and state officials, voter registration and social media posts — will be shown, further bringing attention to Taylor’s case.

While protests have been carried out calling for justice in her case, Irving says efforts like this program he’s helping to producer are “critical to magnify how these unjust behaviors and practices are directly impacting black women.” Alongside Common and Black Lives Matter co-founder Alicia Garza, Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressly, Jemele Hill, and more are set to make appearances in the special.
