In a post shared on Instagram Kylie Jenner detailed the look behind her 2022 Met Gala look on Instagram Monday night, paying tribute to the late fashion designer, Virgil Abloh.
In the caption following by multiple images of herself getting ready for the big night the makeup mogul shared, “Virgil and I were supposed to go to the Met together before it got postponed in 2020. to celebrate V tonight and his incredible legacy truly means the world to me.”

Please look at Kylie Jenners 2022 Met Gala dress to see why we do not need Billionaires. All that damn money stealing food out of peoples mouths and she doesn’t even have the decency to use our money for a decent outfit for the #MetGala

Jenner shared more elements from behind the scenes in a follow-up post, including a closeup of the “Off” lettering of her fitted corset top to a selection of accessories and flowers seemingly sent by Shannon Abloh, the designer’s widow.
Worst dressed award for women goes to Kylie , for looking like a cheap bride heading to Vegas to get hitched. Worst dressed male goes to the winter soldier because he really fcking tried it when he said Ima do the exact opposite of what they want me to do. #MetGala #MetGala2022 pic.twitter.com/ErHuVqBdIc

As we previously reported, Abloh passed away in November 2021 at age 41 following a two-year battle with cancer, PEOPLE verified at the time. The designer was known for his work as the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection, a role he assumed in March 2018, and CEO of the Off-White label, which he established in 2012.
