Kodak Black Donates $20K For Christmas Toy Drive From Behind Bars
Despite being behind bars, Kodak Black still made the effort to give back to his hometown!
According to TMZ, Bradford Cohen, the lawyer for the Florida rapper told the news site that the 23-year-old donated $20,000 toward a toy drive to disperse to kids in his native Broward County. Cohen said Kodak advised on which toys to purchase, and how to present them to the young recipients.
The rapper, who remains in custody in a federal detention center in Miami, dispersed sets of gift cards valued from $50 to $100 to more than 100 kids from 60 families and local foster homes. The presents were picked up at Cohen’s Fort Lauderdale office, the lawyer said. In addition to this, the entertainer, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, also paid for a pizza party for the kids.
Kodak remains in custody at USP Thomson in Illinois after he received a three-plus year sentence in federal prison in 2019 in connection with weapons charges he entered a guilty plea to. As the Daily Mail notes, it’s a separate guilty plea to a gun charge out of New York tacked another year onto the sentence.
