Things continue to get nasty during the divorce saga involving ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ alum Kim Zolciak and her estranged husband Kroy Biermann. After he called Zolciak a bad mom, she was left to defend herself, and she now accuses him of being emotionally and mentally abusive.

As we previously reported last month (on May 8), Kim Zolciak filed for divorce from her husband Kroy Biermann, after 11 years of marriage. The news came on the same day the couple was accused of owing $1.1 million in back taxes, with the IRS reportedly placing a lien on them.
Whether or not their alleged financial troubles led to their marriage’s demise, 44-year-old Zolciak reportedly listed April 30th as the date of separation in her divorce documents. She also claimed that her marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.”
In her divorce docs, the reality TV star also reportedly requested for primary physical custody of the couple’s children, as well as joint legal custody. It was also reported that Zolciak was reportedly seeking spousal support and was expected to legally restore her maiden name.
Weeks after the news broke of their divorce, it was reported that Biermann requested for Zolciak to undergo a psych evaluation. He alleged that his estranged wife was showing “troubling behavior,” including gambling.
Then it was reported that Biermann claimed Zolciak punched him in the head a day before he filed for a divorce (they both filed their own petitions). According to a police report reviewed by PageSix, the incident began before a pair of officers from the Milton Police Department visited the home the ex-couple formerly shared, on May 4.
Zolciak told police that Biermann had allegedly locked her valuable items she owned in a safe that were worth $175,000 – including designer purses and jewelry – and hid the key from her. However, Biermann reportedly told law enforcement that the property was acquired by both parties during their marriage, and that he had planned on selling them to help with their ongoing financial woes.

During the incident, Zolciak said she requested that police remain on the premises while she grabbed her items from the house and put them in her car. Shortly after, an argument broke out between the former couple and Biermann claimed Zolciak punched him in the head.
The incident is said to have happened with the exes’ shared children present. Together they have: Kroy Jr., 11; Kash, 10; and twins, Kaia and Kane, 9. Zolciak’s oldest daughters from another relationship, Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21, weren’t present.

Now, the latest headline in their divorce drama finds Zolciak firing back at her estranged husband’s claims of her being a bad mom. Earlier this week, TMZ shared that Biermann was concerned that Zolciak would go back to ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ and air out their divorce drama. So, he petitioned the court to set up some type of protection for their four children until things are finalized.
Biermann further claimed that he’s been trying to shield the children from the divorce fallout, and alleged that Zolciak constantly talks about the divorce in an “abusive” and “derogatory tone” whenever the children are around.

Firing back at Biermann’s claims, Zolciak sicced her attorney, David Beaudry, on Biermann, to allege that he’s the one who is emotionally and mentally abusive. The attorney now says that Biermann’s attempt to negatively depict Zolciak as a bad mom is “not only misleading and harmful” to her, but also affects their young kids.
Beaudry said, “The emotional and mental abuse Kim has suffered from this man for so many years has taken a toll on her and, most heartbreakingly, their children. Kim has always been an extremely devoted mother to her children; they are her entire world and she is always there to love and support them every step of the way. She refuses to allow Kroy to paint her as something she is not for his own gain. Kim looks forward to the day we can appear in court and solve these issues once and for all.”
