Earlier this week Drake sent Twitter into a frenzy after dropping the cover art for his latest single, “Search & Rescue,” which seemingly featured an image of him and a woman who looked just like his enemy’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian!
In the photo, Drizzy and the Kim K look-alike are snapped wearing matching helmets with just their eyes showing through the face shield. Initially many thought it was definitely the reality star due to the striking resemblance. To make matter worse, Drakey also teased his latest track, which sampled actual audio of Kim Kardashian reflecting on her decision to split from ex Kanye West.
As wild and petty as that may have seemed, Kim’s real fans knew it wasn’t her on the cover just based on the little details like how she isn’t a long-nail kind of girl. One fan also suggested, “Pretty sure “Search & Rescue” cover is Drake with Rosalia, not a Kim Kardashian look alike.” Another added, “lol Drake is a master with marketing know damn well that’s not Kim in that picture.” Looks like they were somewhat right as the girl behind the viral pic has been revealed as an artist named Lilah.
According to TMZ, apparently, she’s been down with the OVO squad for a hot min.
Now, before the pic dropped and just the audio was released, Drake’s dad addressed the chatter surrounding the recently previewed track from his son that featured a Kim Kardashian sample. As social media users called out Drizzy for being “petty,” his father Dennis Graham said,
“Drake is not trolling anyone, it’s just a song. Why try and create a Kanye and Drake beef again?”
Although Drake himself, has not addressed any of this, we’re pretty sure he knew it was triggering this kind of reaction especially after dropping that cover!
As we previously reported, in Pusha’s diss track The Story of Adidon, Kanye’s labelmate at the time came at Drake and even went as far as to mention his then-unknown son Adonis. The lyrics from the song exposed that Drake had a then-secret son, which ignited the feud between himself, Kanye, and Pusha even further. Ultimately Kanye was blamed for sharing Drake’s secret with Pusha T, something that seemed unforgivable for Drizzy. Despite all the online feud, dis tracks, and tweets that followed, Ye later admitted that he simply loves the OVO leader…. While also returning a little bit of shade. “Everyone knows me and Drake have had a rivalry in the past,” West said in 2022. “It really warmed my heart to see Drake like one of my posts. We still need the Donda [Academy] team to play NOCTA. All Drake music will be played at Donda games moving forward.” West also labeled himself “every artist’s favorite artist,” including his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and Drake. “I’m Kim’s favorite performance artist even though she’s more popular. I’m Drake’s favorite artist even though he’s more popular [sic]. No, no, no. I got a better one. I’m Drake’s favorite artist even though he’s more Drake. I feel like a Megamind ever since me and Drake made up.”
