Kim Kardashian hit her breaking point with ex-hubby Kanye West and his wild antics and now she’s sharing why she just let him spiral out of control instead of stepping in to clean up his mess.
On Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians on Hulu, Kim cries to her mom Kris Jenner as she talks about Kanye’s actions and online attacks made against her family and loved ones. Kim explained that it’s just really “tragic” that she’s “stuck with this for the rest of my life, and I’m just so overwhelmed.” Through tears she continued to say in her confessional: “I still feel the need to not talk about it and protect it from my kids and I always will feel that way, but God, if people knew … I just would never do that to my kids. It just is really crazy.”
Speaking more about the controversial rapper, she added “It’s the hardest feeling to watch someone you really loved and you have a family with just be so different than who you knew.” While continuing her conversation with her mom Kris Jenner, Kim went on to say that “Sometimes I feel like if he were to hit rock bottom, that’s his journey that he needs to figure out on his own. I used to run around and call everyone behind his back, and be like, ‘It’s gonna be OK, it’s gonna be OK, don’t worry. Just give him another chance,'” she explained. “I used to spend hours and hours and hours of my day to be the clean-up crew. I just don’t have that energy.”
More On Kanye West’s Troubling Behavior
Around that time, Kanye did appear to hit rock bottom. As many can recall, he got nearly canceled after he debuted his “White Lives Matter” apparel at his Paris Fashion show. To note, the Anti-Defamation League has categorized the phrase as a “hate slogan” used by White supremacist groups, including the Ku Klux Klan.
Major retail company Adidas also dropped Kanye West while others distanced themselves
after he made a Twitter post where he alleged that he would soon support “death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE,” which later caused Twitter and Instagram to restrict his account.
In addition to all of that, Kanye West joined alt-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on his InfoWars talk show where he shockingly admitted that he likes Adolf Hitler, which sparked even more outrage. He explained at the time, “I don’t like the word ‘evil’ next to Nazis. I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis.” Later in the interview, Ye reiterated that it’s “time to promote love” by declaring, “I do love Hitler. I do love the Zionists.”
