Kid Cudi is making things crystal clear that he meant no disrespect towards Drake while he was speaking on his relationship with Kanye West he’s just “not so forgiving.”

We previously shared that Cudi recently spoke about his and Ye’s relationship in a candid interview with Esquire.

Kid Cudi Addresses Severed Friendship With Kanye West

In his cover piece with Esquire, Cudi initially declined to speak about Ye and their broken relationship. He admitted that he did not want to become a headline, to no avail.

Cudi said he’s “appreciated the peace of not hearing or dealing with that sh*t at all.”

He also admitted that he has yet to process what has all transpired, leading up to the end of their friendship.

However, as the interview goes on, it became harder to speak on Ye, who has been in his life for more than a decade. Dating back to 2008, when Cudi signed to Ye’s label, G.O.O.D. Music.

Since, they would go on to remain close friends and collaborators, with both artists appearing on each other’s projects and documentaries.

Cudi stated, “I’ve been on every one of that man’s albums. He’s only been on two of mine. That should tell you something. And don’t think I didn’t ask.”

Cudi also said, “I just want to clear that up for anybody that feels like Kanye made my career or made me who I am. He brought me on to do 808s. I thought that was really f**king awesome. I wanted to be a part of a family and saw G.O.O.D. Music as that opportunity. So I finally said yeah. Kanye West did not come and pluck me out of Applebee’s or the Bape store.”

While there have been obvious feuds about creative differences over the years, the two artists would eventually always reconcile. However, things did not have the same results earlier this year.

While speaking on where he stands with the Chicago rapper, Cudi recalled their February feud, where Ye announced that Cudi would no longer be featured on his album, ‘Donda 2.’

Ye would go on to call Cudi out on Instagram for his friendship with Pete Davidson, who, at the time, happened to be the boyfriend of Ye’s estranged wife Kim Kardashian.

Responding to Ye earlier this year, Cudi tweeted, “Everyone knows I’ve been the best thing about ur albums since I met u. Ima pray for u brother.” And in April, Cudi would go back on Twitter to announce that they were no longer friends.

Recalling his public feuds with Kanye West, Kid Cudi said:

“Do you know how it feels to wake up one day, look at your social media, and you’re trending because somebody’s talking some sh*t about you?

And then you got this person’s trolls sending you messages on Instagram and Twitter? All in your comments? That sh*t pissed me off. That he had the power to f**k with me that week. That he used his power to f**k with me. That pissed me off. You f**king with my mental health now, bro.”

Revealing his new found peace, Cudi explained:

“I’m at a place in my life where I have zero tolerance for the wrong energies. I’ve watched so many people throughout the years that are close to him be burned by him doing some f**ked-up sh*t. And then they turn around and forgive him. And there’s no repercussions. You’re back cool with this man. He does it over and over.”

Cudi continued to address Ye directly:

“I’m not one of your kids. I’m not Kim. It don’t matter if I’m friends with Pete or not friends with Pete. None of this sh*t had anything to do with me.

If you can’t be a grown man and deal with the fact that you lost your woman? That’s not my fucking problem. You need to own up to your sh*t like every man in this life has. I’ve lost women, too. And I’ve had to own up to it. I don’t need that in my life. I don’t need it.”

Cudi also speaks on whether he would mend things with Ye or not. He said:

“With all due respect, I’m not Drake, who’s about to take a picture with him next week and be friends again, and their beef is squashed. That’s not me. What I say, I mean. I will be done with you. It’s gonna take a motherf**king miracle for me and that man to be friends again. I don’t see it happening. He gon’ have to become a monk.”

Although Kid Cudi prefaced his comments with “with all due respect,” his statement was taken another way; so he ended up clarifying.

Cudi tweeted, “Just to be clear, I wasn’t tryna throw a shot at Drake. I got love 4 him. My point I was tryna make is that i’m not so forgiving. Meaning he might be a lil nicer than me in that situation w dude. Thats all. Maybe that came off wrong thru my words. So yea, all good w Drake.”
