Kid Cudi is defending Kanye West and his decision to forgive Ye as they reunite and appear on stage together in Chicago.
On Friday (September 4), Cudi popped up on stage with Ye during night two of his return to the Chi, Ye brought out Big Sean, Chief Keef, Young Thug, Common, Travis Scott, Don Tolliver, Twista, Lupe Fiasco, GLC, Consequence, and—most notably—on-again off-again friend and collaborator Kid Cudi. And before that, on night one (Thursday, September 3), Ye had Big Sean and Twista, plus, 2 Chainz and Future.
Following Cudi’s appearance on stage with Ye, many people took to social media with mixed reactions. Many were happy to see the two rappers together again. However, others were condemning Cudi for forgiving Ye and supporting him again.
This despite their own previous issues and Ye’s controversial comments about Jewish people and more. Although Ye has repeatedly apologized for his anti-Semitic remarks and apologized for other questionable behavior, some folks still aren’t here for him.

One of those people is radio and podcast host Peter Rosenberg. While taking to X on Friday afternoon, Rosenberg condemned those supporting Ye. He said:
“A lot of people I love are being openly lame about Kanye. I am not saying no one deserves forgiveness or empathy but this man sang ‘Heil Hitler’ ONE YEAR AGO. Disappointed in a lot of people.”
On Saturday morning (September 5), Cudi came to Ye’s defense and shared his own reasoning for forgiving the Chicago rap legend. He responded to Rosenberg and said:
“I understand ur frustration Peter, I f**ks w u, but I don’t really care if ur disappointed in me. That man is my brother. U don’t have a relationship w him like I do. Damn near 2 decades of art and friendship. U not family. So I get it. Ive been around Ye, and I can honestly say talking to him now is how it use to be when I first signed to him, but even better. He was dealing w mental health struggles for years and now he’s good. Everyone deserves some grace when they family. I was the hardest on him out of anybody. I held him accountable. He apologized and it was sincere. But like I said, u not family so I get it.”
Rosenberg replied back:
“Well I wasn’t disappointed in you @KiDCuDi (I meant fans) but if you saw me running out to support an artist a year after they made a song called “all hail the klan” you would prolly feel a way. I am ALL for forgiveness and empathy but this man is being hailed as a HERO … f that. go get real help and sit down for a few years then let’s talk before i’m going to run to put money in ur pocket.”
