While on trial in London for allegedly sexually assaulting four men (in their 30s and 40s now), disgraced actor Kevin Spacey told the jury that he didn’t touch one sexual assault accuser in a violent manner, but rather in “romantic and intimate ways.”

On Thursday (July 13), the Oscar-winning actor, who came out as gay in 2017, spoke about one of his complainants while on stand in London’s Southwark Crown Court. The 63-year-old said, “He was funny and charming and flirtatious; over time we began … I’m assuming it was me … began to touch him in more romantic and intimate ways.”

In June 2022, Spacey was hit with 12 charges in London; including: three counts of indecent assault; seven counts of sexual assault; one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent; and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.
Spacey’s laundry list of charges stem from alleged incidents that happened in and around London, dating back to 2004 through 2015. It is reported that during the 12-year period, Spacey was in the United Kingdom working as an artistic director at London’s Old Vic theater.
In court this week, Spacey went on to claim that evidence his team provided shows that he and the complainant became “somewhat sexual,” but that they did not engage in any sexual relations, because the victim “did not want to go any further.” He added, “That happens sometimes with people, and I just respect how far someone wants to go or not.”
Spacey also went on to describe how he and his sexual assault accuser “had a good time together and laughed a lot.” However, he was “crushed” when his accuser, who he likes “a lot,” came out with the allegations against him, and referred to him as a “sexual predator.”
The accuser claimed in court that the actor once grabbed his crotch while he was driving, and then tried to groom him. Spacey admitted, “I never thought that the (man) I knew would, I don’t know, 20 years later stab me in the back.”
Spacey’s trial is expected to last two more weeks.
