A Kenyan mother was recently charged after being accused of fatally stabbing her 2-year-old daughter, then dismembering her and eating her liver, while singing nursery rhymes.

Kenyan Mother Accused Of Fatally Stabbing 2-Year-Old Daughter And Eating Her Liver While Singing Nursery Rhymes
The gruesome case involved 24-year-old Olivia Naserian, who recently appeared in court on Wednesday (April 26) after being charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter Glory Njeri in Kitengela, Kenya.
According to local reports, the incident occurred last Sunday on April 23 at the mother and daughter’s residential home in Kitengela, which sits about 20 miles south of the Kenyan capital city of Nairobi.
Reportedly, while looking through a window, neighbors watched as the mother was allegedly fatally stabbing her daughter to death with a knife, then as she cut her open and ate her internal organs. It is reported that the neighbors came rushing to the window when they heard the little girl screaming.
The neighbors also claimed that while the mother was stabbing her daughter to death, she was singing hymns, nursery rhymes, and reciting the alphabet. One neighbor reportedly claimed that they heard the mother reciting, “You will never cry again my baby. You will forever sleep. I love you, my daughter.”

Upon witnessing the toddler’s murder, the neighbors claimed that they tried their hardest to break down a door and break into the home to save the toddler.
Meanwhile, another neighbor reportedly filmed the attack as it was happening, and others reported the act to local authorities. Unfortunately, it was reported that by time the neighbors made their way inside the home, the mother had already killed her daughter, and she had collapsed on the floor herself.
A neighbor reportedly claimed, “The woman ate her baby’s liver as we watched. She also removed other internal organs, such as intestines and heart, from the body before becoming unconscious.”

When law enforcement officials arrived, they quickly arrested the mother on suspicion of murder. The body of the 2-year-old was then taken to hospital morgue for post-mortem (an autopsy).
Elsewhere, it was also reported that the young mother’s parents lived in the home with her and her daughter; however, they were not in the home at the time of the incident.
While appearing in court on Wednesday, the Chief Magistrate subsequently ordered the mother to remain in police custody for an additional 10 days as police continued to investigate her role in the 2-year-old’s murder. The young mother is due back in court on May 8.
According to Benson Mutia, the head of Kitengela Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), investigators are trying to establish whether or not the young mother was suffering from any mental health issues at the time of the incident. Mutia added, “What she did to her own baby is unexplainable.”

Meanwhile, Gladys Wanjiku, the aunt of the young mother, reportedly told news sources that her niece previously showed “some bizarre behavior” prior to the incident involving her 2-year-old daughter.
Wanjiku claimed that her niece had recently come back from Kirinyaga — where she was living with her boyfriend for about eight months. When she came back to Kitengela, she reportedly arrived in good spirits, but it didn’t last for too long.
Wanjiku explained, “Something is very wrong. We were not here, but the reports we are getting from our neighbors is that [she] started talking in tongues and chasing after a dog hours before descending on her child.”
