Kendall Jenner 818 Tequila Company Sued For Allegedly Ripping Off 512 Tequila Brand
Kendall Jenner’s tequila brand 818 has been hit with a lawsuit by competitor Tequila 512 for allegedly ripping them off. To make matters worse, her sister Kim Kardashian has also been thrown into the mix.

512 points out many problems that it has with Kendall’s brand. For starters, the company says 818 copied their style by using an area code for its moniker: 818 is the San Fernando Valley, and 512 is Austin. 512 also points out that the color scheme on the 2 bottles is so similar, that it may confuse consumers.
To add to all of that, 512 names Kim Kardashian in the lawsuit, claiming Kim’s app, “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” was promoting Kendall’s 818 and for some reason, the 512 bottle was front-and-center on the in-game images. 512 claims they reached out to game creators after first noticing the product in the game, and it was then changed to the green design. The lawsuit states: “Either Defendant intentionally used Plaintiff’s bottle, hoping to further blur the lines between the two products, or Defendant was itself confused about the difference between the two brands,” TMZ quotes.
The news site notes that Kendall was not named as a defendant. Her company is the only one being sued. However, a company rep says, “We are reviewing the complaint and believe the allegations are without merit.”
Despite that, 512 wants a judge to stop the production and sales of 818 as it’s presently constituted. In addition to that, the also want the profits the company made from the tequila.
