Conway was speaking to reporters in DC this Monday when she expressed that the proceedings are tearing our country apart, and that’s exactly the kind of divisiveness MLK Jr. opposed. She also said that Dr. King wouldn’t even entertain the impeachment trial because he didn’t envision having “Americans dragged through a process where the president is not going to be removed from office, is not being charged with bribery, extortion, high crimes or misdemeanors.”
Folks took to Twitter to react to her comments with some calling the move disrespectful for mentioning the impeachment on MLK’s day. However, Martin Luther King III did respond to Conway bringing up his father.
While speaking with TMZ, he said that his father definitely would not want to divide the country but adds he would NEVER stand in the way of reprimanding anyone for thinking they’re above the law.
