Kelly Osbourne has a lot to be thankful for. The 37-year-old, who recently announced she’s pregnant with her first child, took to Instagram and Twitter to share that she had successfully completed her first year of sobriety as she reflected on how her life has changed for the better since coming clean. Kelly posted a screenshot of her Twelve Steps app, which revealed she had officially surpassed a full year since deciding to make the change.
“What a difference a year can make! If you would have told me 365 days ago that I would be sober, happy, and about to be a mumma I would have laughed in your face,” the former Osbournes star gushed. Life is truly amazing when you do the work. Thank you to everyone that has supported me on this journey. I love you all so much!!!!!!!” Her mother Sharon hopped into the comment section under the post to congratulate Kelly on her milestone, writing, “I’m so proud of you @kellyosbourne.”

During her appearance on Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Red Table Talk last summer, the TV personality told the panelists she had been sober for four years before relapsing in April 2021. She recalled feeling proud that she didn’t give in to temptation amid the coronavirus pandemic when most people were forced to remain indoors — which could have triggered her to start drinking again — but she remained strong-minded… up until she saw someone drinking a glass of champagne at the pool.

“There’s so much irony in this last relapse for me because I made it all the way through the pandemic, I made it all the way through,” she explained. “I was alone, sitting by a pool, and waiting for somebody to come have a meeting with me, and I saw this woman and her husband had a glass of champagne, and it looked really nice.” Kelly admitted that what initially started as two glasses turned into bottles by the next day, leaving her feeling disappointed and saddened that she could no longer be the best version of herself to her family and friends.

News of Kelly’s one-year sobriety comes just weeks after announcing to her fans she’s expecting her first child with Slipknot’s Slid Wilson. The pair only confirmed their romance back in January, but by the look of things, their relationship couldn’t be going any better since they’re already prepping for parenthood, with Kelly expressing that she’s ecstatic about the thought of becoming a mom.
“I know that I have been very quiet these past few months so I thought I would share with you all as to why…,” the One Word singer shared. I am over the moon to announce that I am going to be a Mumma. To say that I am happy does not quite cut it. I am ecstatic!”
