Kel Mitchell is speaking out to let his fans know that he is recovering following his recent health scare and hospitalization.
The 45-year-old took to Instagram late Wednesday to release a statement to his supporters. He said, “Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time. The scare was real, but so was the support. With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I’m now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family. Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you enough. Much love to each of you.”
TMZ first reported the news that the Good Burger 2 star had been hospitalized late Tuesday in Los Angeles. The outlet noted that Mitchell was admitted to a local hospital via the emergency room but was conscious and alert when he arrived. At the time, the cause of Kel’s illness was unclear, but what is now known is that he received proper treatment and appears to be doing much better.

Hopefully, Kel gets better soon to celebrate his new movie Good Burger 2 which is set to premiere on Nov. 22. The movie, which will air on Paramount+, is a sequel to 1997’s original hit comedy show where he and his co-star Kenan Thompson will also reprise their characters as Dexter and Ed.

“Dexter Reed is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails. Ed welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and gives him his old job back,” according to the synopsis.
“With a new crew working at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to get back on his feet but unfortunately puts the fate of Good Burger at risk once again.”
Aside from his work, we’re sure he wants to go back to spending fun and quality time with his family. The comedian is a father of four and shares son Honor, 3, and daughter Wisdom, 6, with his wife, Asia Lee-Mitchell whom he got married to in 2012. He is also dad to daughter Allure, 21, and son Lyric, 24, from his marriage to Tyisha Hampton.
Get well soon!
