Palmer previously announced her pregnancy last December during her inaugural appearance hosting “Saturday Night Live.” Now, she has shared images of her baby boy, whose name is Leodis Andrellton Jackson, along with photos of herself and her partner Darius Jackson. The post, which is seemingly patterned after her “maternity era,” carousel from last week, appears to be somewhat of a note directly addressed to their son. In the lengthy caption, Palmer welcomes “baby leo,” to the world while also providing a brief note about each photo in the gallery — in addition to revealing the inspiration for their first-born child’s name.

“Hey Son!!!! 1. Only 48hrs of being parents! 😳,” Palmer wrote in part in the caption. “2. Darius always made me playlists when we first started dating, “Someone” by El Debarge was a favorite. We became each other’s someone and made a someone, look at God! 😆 3. The baby love Rolling Ray, cause purrr. 4. “I’m not hiding the world from my son, I’m hiding my son from the world.” Hahaha 5. I’m just playing, my baby face is on this slide. 6. And this slide 🤣😅😍❤️🙏🏾😇😭 Born during Black History Month, with a name to match 😄! LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo.”

Multiple stars turned out in the comment section of the post to congratulate Palmer, including New York rapper Lil Mama, “Abbott Elementary,” creator Quinta Brunson and actress Skai Jackson. In another post on Twitter, the 29-year-old multi-hyphenate appeared to provide more context behind baby Leo’s name in a quoted reply to a fan.

“That name sound like it led a civil rights March,” a user wrote in a retweet, to which Palmer replied, “It’s giving I marched with Martin, purrrr.”

Palmer and her partner Jackson, who is the younger sibling of “Insecure,” star Sarunas J. Jackson, officially announced their relationship last year when he penned an IG birthday message to the “Nope,” actress. Jackson, who is also known as Darius Daulton, is a triple-threat writer, producer and actor in the new KeyTV family sitcom series “Sportsfan,” which Palmer had a hand in directing.

While it’s apparent that Palmer is now entering a new chapter in her life as a parent, her career is also in the midst of an interesting upward trend. After starring in a number of successful film projects in 2022, including Netflix’s “The 3 From Hell” starring Marlon Wayans and the drama “The Lighthouse” featuring Willem Dafoe, Palmer also portrayed a role in the animated Disney and Pixar-produced feature “Lightyear.” Her voiceover of the character Izzy Hawthorne actually earned Palmer an NAACP Image Award in the category for an outstanding character voice-over performance in a motion picture.
