Katy Perry Defends Ellen DeGeneres Over ‘Toxic TV Show’ Claims
Katy Perry has got Ellen’s back! Early Tuesday morning, the singer took to social media to issue a statement on her good friend amid allegations of a “toxic” work environment behind the scenes of the popular daytime talk show.

Despite what’s being said by Ellen’s former staff, Perry is sharing her personal experience with Ellen, which has always been a “positive” one. “I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow,” wrote Perry. “I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades.” The soon-to-be new mom added, “Sending you love & a hug, friend @TheEllenShow ❤️.”
As we previously reported, Ellen DeGeneres has apologized for the atmosphere on set in a letter to staffers and vowed that she is “committed to ensuring this does not happen again.” However, an internal investigation into racism and bullying has been launched. To make matters worse, Show staffers have also come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct among the show’s top executives!
Aside from Perry, Ellen’s wife Portia de Rossi has also spoken out in support. She said: “To all our fans….we see you. Thank you for your support,” she wrote, including the hashtags #stopbotattacks, #IStandWithEllenDeGeneres, #IStandByEllen, #IstandByEllenDeGeneres and #bekindtooneanother.”
