On Friday (October 9), the Trump administration first announced the appointment of Zacharia. She was coming in as a graduate of Pepperdine Caruso School of Law and a senior communications adviser for Truth Social.
Her official start date — as press secretary — was set for Monday (October 12). However, she delivered her first official press briefing on Tuesday (October 13). It lasted about 14 minutes. She took three questions. Zacharia’ performance during the brief briefing drew widespread, intense media criticism.

Again for its brevity and also her stumbling execution. By Wednesday (October 14), news broke about Zacharia claiming she never passed the bar exam to become a licensed lawyer. On Thursday (October 15), Zacharia spoke with Fox News and the interview caused more criticism. By Friday afternoon, (October 16), she was ousted as press secretary.
On Friday, Zacharia took to her social media with a photo of herself and Trump in the Oval Office. She captioned the photo:
“President Trump is a kind, wonderful, gracious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and the most hardworking man. I wish more Americans appreciated him. No one will ever make America great the way he has and continues to. It was an honor to work for him.”
On Saturday (October 17), Zacharia also thanked Trump for the “unforgettable honor” of welcoming her family into the White House and Oval Office as well. She wrote:
“Thank you, President Trump, for hosting my family and me in the Oval Office and for the generous gifts you gave my children on my son’s birthday. It was an unforgettable honor.”
