Kanye West is seemingly responding to the backlash he’s currently facing over his “White Lives Matter” shirt.

As we previously reported, the rapper and entrepreneur — who legally changed his name to Ye — sparked massive controversy on Monday after he popped out with a black long-sleeve tee with its statement, which is considered a “hate slogan” by the Anti-Defamation League. He wore it during his surprise Yeezy 9 fashion week show in Paris. Rocking the sweatshirt along with Ye was also the models and controversial commentator Candace Owens — who wore the same shirt in white to the show.

After coming across the viral snaps of Ye many people including celebrities took to social media to react. Jemele Hill called the sweatshirt “dangerously dumb.” Jaden Smith also denounced the move, saying that he can’t stand behind West’s choice and that “he does not have the full support of the youth.” In one of his tweets that are still up on his account, Jaden said, “Black Lives Matter” and “I Don’t Care Who’s It Is If I Don’t Feel The Message I’m Out.” Ye took to his Instagram Story this Tuesday and wrote in all caps: “EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BLACK LIVES MATTER WAS A SCAM NOW ITS OVER YOU’RE WELCOME.”

This is not Ye’s first time making controversial statements. As we previously reported in 2018, he showed big support tk Donald Trump by wearing the campaign’s red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat many time. He also endorsed Owens on Twitter. In April 2018 he even claimed, “When you hear about slavery for 400 years… for 400 years? That sounds like a choice.”

West ended up apologizing both his comments around slavery and his choice to wear the MAGA hat.: “I have never really approached or addressed the slavery comment fully. And it’s not something for me to overly intellectualise. This is something about the fact that it hurt people’s feelings and the way that I presented that piece of information,” he said while speaking to Chicago radio station 107.5 WGCI.

“I don’t know if I properly apologized for how the slavery comment made people feel,” he continued. “I’m sorry for the one-two effect of the MAGA hat into the slave comment, and I’m sorry for people that felt let down by that moment.”

Not clear if Ye plans to apologize for his latest move that has gotten everyone rilled up yet again. In the meantime, check out his interview with Jason Lee that went down earlier this year:
