Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice made a quick exit from the Dallas County Jail on Tuesday, dodging FOX 4 cameras as he leaped into a waiting SUV. This moment marked the end of his 30-day sentence behind bars, following a probation violation.

As we previously reported, Rice found himself in cuffs on May 19 after testing positive for marijuana, a misstep that breached the terms of his probation linked to a serious incident back in 2024. According to court documents, the trouble began on March 30, 2024, when Rice was allegedly racing his Lamborghini SUV against Theodore Knox in a Corvette at fast speeds on U.S. Highway 75 North—also known as the North Central Expressway.

The arrest warrant affidavit revealed that Rice’s Lamborghini was clocked at 119 mph just moments before the collision, while Knox’s Corvette wasn’t far behind at 116 mph. Reportedly, Rice told authorities he lost control, setting off a chaotic chain-reaction crash involving six vehicles.

Police reports detail a wild scene where Rice, Knox, and their passengers scrambled from the wreckage and dashed away on foot, bags in tow—an escape caught on highway surveillance. Adding fuel to the fire, a civil lawsuit claims both drivers were under the influence of alcohol prior to the crash.

Initially, Rice and Knox faced serious charges including aggravated assault and multiple counts of collision resulting in injury. Several victims have since filed lawsuits against them, seeking millions in damages.

In July of last year, Rice pleaded guilty to felony racing on a highway and felony accident causing serious bodily injury, resulting in a judge sentencing him to five years of probation along with the 30 days he just served. So far, he’s shelled out around $115,000 in restitution to cover medical expenses for the victims.
