It’s no secret that Justin Bieber is a huge fan of the late rapper Tupac, having covered a handful of the latter’s songs in the past. But during the Biebs’ interview with Power 106’s Power Mornings Show earlier this week, the 28-year-old expressed how his journey with faith had brought him that much closer to the All Eyes On Me rapper.
During his candid chat, Justin shared his love for Tupac, saying that they shared a few similarities, including their passion for wanting “to tell people about God’s love for them.” The Canadian-born pop star, who previously said he had turned to religion as fame began to impact his mental health, revealed, “As you know, I’ve always been a big Tupac fan.”
“I definitely have grown in my journey with my faith and I definitely feel like we have some similarities when it comes to just our conviction about wanting to tell people about God’s love for them.” In past discussions about Tupac, Justin enlisted the Keep Ya Head Up lyricist in his Top 5 rappers of all time, saying he was first introduced to his music by his dad, Jeremy Bieber.

In April 2021, Justin graced the cover of GQ, where he opened up about his past struggle with drugs, which he said were brought on by the struggles of fame and success, having once thought that his superstardom would “make everything good.” But it turned out that the effects of his global chart domination were only making things worse in his personal life.
“There was a sense of still yearning for more,” he told the publication. “It was like I had all this success and it was still like, “I’m still sad, and I’m still in pain. And I still have these unresolved issues”. And I thought all the success was going to make everything good.”

He also explained how being dependent on drugs helped him get through some of the moments he didn’t want to deal with at the time, describing his substance of choice as a “numbing agent” to keep going. Those days would lead him to ponder whether he would ever be able to lead an everyday life again — one where he’s not finding himself relying on drugs to feel better.
Justin had visited the Emerald Isle in North Carolina, where he vowed to kick his bad habits for good. “This old castle. Just like the most beautiful estate,” he remembered. “With the trimmed hedges that are completely immaculate. It’s over this beautiful body of water. And I was there. And I was alone. And I was sad inside. I don’t want to let my shame of my past dictate what I’m able to do now for people.”
The Holy hitmaker has since settled down with Hailey Bieber, whom he married in a New York courthouse in September 2018.
