Jussie Smollett’s Lawyer Says Ex-Empire Actor Is ‘100% Innocent,’ Confident They Will Overturn Conviction On Appeal

Jussie Smollett’s attorney stated Thursday he will dispute the former “Empire” actor’s conviction for fabricating a story about being the victim of a racist, anti-gay attack.

As we previously reported Jussie Smollett was found guilty of five of the six charges of disorderly conduct against him after an approximately two-week trial.

After the verdict was read, Uche expressed to reporters Smollett was disappointed and that he is “100% innocent.” He said Smollett’s team is confident “he’s going to be cleared of all, all accusations on all charges.”

Smollett has really been receiving backlash from the Internet after he was found guilty. Donald Trump Jr had a few things to get off his chest about to verdict as well by agreeing with Rev. Al Sharpton saying, “The reported hate attack on my friend and brother, actor Jussie Smollett is despicable and outrages. The guilty must face the maximum.’

Trump Jr replied to the tweet saying, “I’m with you Al, I think all of America is with you on this one. The guilty must face the maximum.” 

Trump Jr continued with more to say, “I’m just happy to live in a country where people will go to jail for attacking a gay black man. There’s absolutely no place for that s**** in America or anywhere else, and I’m happy the perpetrator was brought to justice.’
