Julia Fox recently spoke with PEOPLE Magazine, and in her exclusive interview, the actress spoke on her career, her split from Kanye West and of course, her daring and “fearless” fashion looks — which she says are a provided “visual service.”
While supporting her longtime friend Richie Shazam at the Converse and Tribeca Festival premiere for ‘Savitree,’ Fox stopped by PEOPLE on the red carpet.
Julia Fox Calls Her ‘Fearless’ Fashion Looks A Provided ‘Visual Service’ To The Public
The 32 year old ‘Uncut Gems‘ actress, who is also a model, mother and aspiring author, was wearing a 3D printed geometric top by Artemisi and paired it with a black leather mini skirt. Her makeup featured her signature thick black eyeliner, which was drawn as a rounded wing on top of her bleached eyebrows.
Fox’s daring look was of course a talk piece with the site on the carpet. Fox was asked about her risky sense of fashion and the confidence she strives for when pulling her looks off.
Fox said, “I think just being fearless, not giving a f**k, doing what I feel like doing, and not caring about whether society thinks it’s normal or not. If I think it’s cool, then it’s cool.”
When asked if there are any styles or trends that she would absolutely never support, Fox said, “Honestly, no. I can see the beauty in every type of style and fashion.”
Fox was then told about her “very unique approach to being a celebrity” — like the time she said on Instagram that she “decided to walk to increase the chances of being papped cuz the world needs this look.”
Addressing the comment and why she feels the need to be so open in the industry while her peers remain private and inaccessible, Fox said, “Well, I mean, you pick and choose.”
She added, “Sometimes the paparazzi get me, and I look like sh*t, you know? If they’re gonna get me, I might as well make the best of it. I feel like I’m doing a service. I’m providing a service.” She clarified, “a visual service [to the people].”
When asked if she had a goal as a celebrity, Fox simply said, “Money.” When asked to elaborate, she added, “Just money. Isn’t that everyone’s goal?”
