Do You Agree? Julia Fox Says Parents Should Buy Their Kids Cleaning Tools Instead Of Toys: ‘Start Teaching Them Life Skills Very Young’

Julia Fox has some parenting advice she thinks could do wonders for first-time parents. The socialite and model took to her official TikTok on Monday, telling moms and dads to stop investing in toys for their children and gift them with cleaning tools instead, stressing that this will teach them “those life skills really young.”

Fox, who has a 19-month-old son Valentino with ex-husband Peter Artemiev, touched on the subject while telling fans how her toddler apparently has no desire to play with toys. “He is actually more interested in what I’m doing,” the 32-year-old said. “So I suggest that everyone buy their kid a mini-mop and mini-broom and start teaching them those life skills really young, so when they enter the real world they don’t have to outsource for everything.”

Fox believes that teaching children the importance of things such as how to use a mop and a broom from an early age, it will help ingrain valuable life skills so that when her son reaches his teenage years, using cleaning products and equipment certainly won’t be a challenge for him. “They know how to do things for themselves. I think that’s really important,” she remarked.

“The idea of childhood was invented as a way to get parents to spend a lot of money on s–t that’s not really teaching your kid anything. The concept of childhood was only invented in the 18th century. Prior to that, children were just regarded as little adults.”

Fox previously made headlines in May when she said she was interested in getting Elon Musk’s number because she had “lots of ideas” and was intrigued about potentially visiting space one day. During her interview with The Face, she wouldn’t elaborate on what exact ideas she wanted to discuss with the Tesla founder, but she considered them to be of “sustainability and, you know, tech things.”

Though she has yet to get her hands on Musk’s number, Fox went on to share the most famous person she has saved in her contact list: Madonna. Definitely. Like, she’s Madonna. Who’s bigger than Madonna?! And she’s amazing,” she explained. “When you’re with her, she has this way about her where you almost forget that she’s Madonna because she’s so real and so intuitive and perceptive. She just gets it and gets on your level.”
