According to CNN, Joe Biden will also be the oldest president at 78 after his inauguration in January along with dealing with a pandemic and an economic crisis. The win comes after President Trump apparently had the lead in Pennsylvania but the state came through to help Biden earn over 270 in the electoral vote.
Joe Biden said in an official statement that he is “honored and humbled by the trust the American people have placed in me and in Vice President-elect Harris. In the face of unprecedented obstacles, a record number of Americans voted. Proving once again, that democracy beats deep in the heart of America. With the campaign over, it’s time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation. It’s time for America to unite. And to heal. We are the United States of America. And there’s nothing we can’t do if we do it together.”
An hour before Biden’s win was announced, President Trump tweeted the following, “I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT.” But his tweet was flagged for misinformation.

“Stay calm. The process is working. Each ballot must be counted. … Democracy is sometimes messy. It sometimes requires a little patience, as well. But that patience has been rewarded now for more than 240 years with a system of governance that is the envy of the world.”
