The recently Tony-nominated actor opens up about his shower scene from “Take Me Out”
In an interview with the Associated Press, Jesse Williams finally opened up about his thoughts about his nude scene from the Broadway play “Take Me Out” being leaked on social media. He says: “I’m not really worrying about it. I can’t sweat that. We do need to keep advocating for ourselves. And it’s wonderful to see a community push back and make clear what we do stand for, what we don’t.” Williams also emphasized the importance of consent since the shower scene was leaked without his permission.
“Consent is important, I thought. So, let’s keep that in mind universally,”

Williams called the theater a “sacred space” and acknowledged that everyone doesn’t hold it in high regard.
“Theater is a sacred space, and everybody doesn’t understand that. Everybody doesn’t necessarily respect or regard that in a way that maybe they should, or we’d like,”
New security measures were implemented after Jesse Williams’ nude scene was leaked on social media
As previously reported, the Second Stage Theater released a statement about the nude scene leak and condemned the attended who posted the footage online.
“We are appalled that this policy has been violated and unauthorized footage of our acting company has been posted. It is deeply unfortunate that one audience member chose to disrespect the production, its fellow audience members, and most importantly, the cast in this manner. Taking naked pictures of anyone without their consent is highly objectionable and can have severe legal consequences. Posting it on the internet is a gross and unacceptable violation of trust between the actor and audience forged in the theatre community. We are actively pursuing takedown requests and ask that one participates in the distribution of these images.”
The theater also increased security measures during the play so future leaks like this will not take place.
The “Grey’s” actor expressed previous thoughts on appearing nude during the play.
The actor previously expressed his thoughts on doing a nude scene during an interview with Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” last month and was asked if his previous co-stars from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ supported the idea after they went to see the play.
“I wasn’t nervous for them to see me. I didn’t know Ellen or Debbie were coming and I’ve learned in my first few weeks with production that I don’t want to know. Everybody makes such a big deal. It’s a body. Once you see it you realize it’s whatever.”
