Jerry Springer Posthumously Sends Shockwaves Across Twitter As Clip From Virtual Play Leaves Users Believing He Secretly Fathered 2 Black Kids
If you haven’t heard the news already, there’s a clip circulating across social media, showing Jerry Springer — who passed at age 79 on April 27, following a secret battle with pancreatic cancer — reading a “last will and testament” to his “four children,” including two who were Black.
In detail, the play explores the fallout of Springer’s “family” faces when his character passed away. Springer’s fictional children, Jordan and Megan, are seen on a Zoom call with Springer’s attorney, who speaks with them to discuss the arrangements of his will.

Also invited to the Zoom are Springer’s fictional illegitimate kids, Misha and John, who were born out of an extramarital affair. As the four children and attorney gather on the Zoom, both sets of kids meeting for the first time, the attorney shows them a pre-recorded video from their father, who goes on to explain his affair and how he has decided to divvy up his assets, most of which end up going to the two Springer’s character’s two Black children.
Now, what users across Twitter were actually watching was a clip from a 2020 virtual play that Springer acted in called ‘Blood Money.’ The script reading happened during a festival called, ‘REFRAMED 2020: A Festival of New Plays on Social Justice.”
The play was hosted by Tulane University, where Springer was once a student. The play was written by Lori Parquet, and put together by the University’s School of Liberal Arts Department of Theatre and Dance.
Now, while the clip of Springer is being referred to as real, it is NOT. The reports of Springer having “outside” kids have been debunked. What is real is that Springer only had one child — a daughter named Katie Springer, whom he shared with his ex-wife Micki Velton.
The two were married for nearly two decades before they decided to part ways in 1994. After his divorce, Springer never remarried.

Prior to the rumors of Springer stepping out being debunked, users on Twitter were flabbergasted. One wrote, “Ayeeee Jerry Springer definitely went out like Jerry Springer. This sh*t is wild! Have y’all watched this?”
Another wrote, “Jerry Springer LEFT HIS WHOLE ESTATE TO HIS 2 BLACK KIDS. And left his wife and 2 white daughters nada. His kids are on the right with the lawyer playing the video for them. GAGGGGGGGGGGGINGGGGGGGG!”
