Jeremy Renner appears to be making a speedy recovery at the hospital following his near-fatal snowplowing accident on Sunday. The Marvel star gave fans an update earlier today as he took to his Twitter page to share a video of himself from his hospital bed enjoying a head massage.

“A ‘not no great’ ICU DAY, turned to amazing spa day with my sis and mama,” he captioned the video. “Thank you sooooo much.” Jeremy is noticeably still bruised up from the accident, which occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day when the actor was run over by his own snowplow while moving snow near his home in Reno, Nevada.

According to TMZ, Jeremy lost an extensive amount of blood while his torso and chest were both crushed from the powerful impact. When he was rushed to a nearby hospital, he was left in critical condition, but judging by his latest Twitter post, the 51-year-old is well on his way to making a fast recovery.

After being airlifted to a health center, the California native underwent surgery for orthopedic injuries and blunt chest trauma before being placed in intensive care. A day after the accident happened, a 911 call detailed just how badly Jeremy had gotten himself hurt, with the caller noting how the person in question was struggling to breathe while he moaned in great distress and pain.

Sheriff Darin Balaam said in a press conference on Tuesday that Jeremy was assisting a family member on a snowy mountain when the accident happened. “On Sunday morning at 8.55am a 911 call was received for a crash, involving a snowcat vs a pedestrian. The subject has been run over by a snowcat in the area of Mount Rose Highway,” he said.

While on his way to help a family member, his car had gotten stuck by the snow, which led him to use the snowplow in hopes of getting his vehicle to move. And while he was successful at getting the car out of the heavy snow, after exiting the Snowcat plow, it began to roll. Now in panic mode, Jeremy tried to jump back into the snowplow but instead ended up being run over.

Foul play has already been ruled out in the investigation, with Darin adding that the situation was simply a “tragic accident.”
