Jennifer Lopez Doesn’t Believe She’s Ever ‘Truly Been Loved’ After About 7 Engagements And 4 Marriages
In a new interview with radio host Howard Stern, JLo was asked if she thought she’d truly been loved. The superstar multi-hyphenate took a deep sigh and rested her head on the fingertips of her right hand while replying, “No.” Stern followed up, “And do you think you really have experienced loving someone?” She quickly replied, “Yes.” Stern followed up again asking what happens when she “can’t get that love back.”
JLo replied, “What I learned: It’s not that I’m not lovable. It’s that they’re not capable.” Stern clarified, “They can’t love.” She explained, “They don’t have it in them. They need to appreciate the little person inside of them. They need to love them.”
Stern questioned, “They have little to give?” Lopez replied, “Yeah. And they’ve gave me what they had! They gave me all of it. Every time. All the rings, all the things I could ever want. They tried to give me the houses, the rings, the marriage, all of it. But…”
Stern interjected, “They didn’t love you?” She replied, “They didn’t.” Stern added, “And didn’t know you.” Lopez admitted, “And I didn’t love myself.” Stern acknowledged, “Right. It’s tough. This is some journey, right?” Lopez agreed, “It is.” Stern continued, “You know, I was thinking about your music. Most of your songs are about love. They really are.” Before grinning, Lopez quipped, “They’re all about love.”
