Jeff Bezos Sets New Single-Day Record Adding $13 Billion To Net Worth
Yesterday, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos set a new single-day record by adding $13 billion to his net worth. You read correctly — in just one day, he’s added $13 billion to his fortune, putting his estimated net worth at $189.3 billion.
Bezos, who’s listed as both Bloomberg and Forbes‘ wealthiest man in the world, experienced a huge one-day spike in net worth after stock for Amazon surged to 8% during the day. The spike arrived after a Goldman Sachs analyst increased the company’s $3,232.49 price target — which projects a stock’s value in the next 12 months — by about 28%, equivalent to $3,800 per share.

In addition to Bezos’ added billions, his ex-wife, MacKenzie Bezos, has also gained value in net worth; gaining an additional $4.6 billion on Monday, making her the 13th richest person in the world. In 2019, the couple split, granting MacKenzie with a nearly $40 billion divorce settlement. It’s noted that if it weren’t for the payout, the Amazon CEO would have become the first person in the world to hit a net worth of more than $200 billion.
