Jeff Bezos Becomes $13 Billion Richer After Amazon Earns $1 Trillion

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos credits Prime member for helping the company hit $1 trillion in value after earning $87.4 billion within the fourth quarter.

According to Fox News, Bezos will become even richer starting Friday when Amazon shares will be priced at $2,000 after the market opens. He thanks his Prime members for the increase along with the addition of Amazon Fresh, another part of Amazon that was created after the company acquired Whole Foods.

“Prime membership continues to get better for customers year after year. And customers are responding — more people joined Prime this quarter than ever before, and we now have over 150 million paid Prime members around the world,

The CEO also credits streaming for the company’s revenue due to the original shows and movies being released on Prime Video.

Bezos also remains the companies biggest shareholder at a 12 percent stake and gave his ex-wife Mckenzie four percent of the company shares, leading her to be one of the richest women in the world. The couple divorced in July 2019 after a 25-year marriage. He also owns the Washington Post and Blue Origin, an aeronautics company.
