Cheaves then hopped back online and shared a video opening up more about her voting journey. She shared, “I have not voted since Barack Obama.” She then said she skipped the 2024 elections because she didn’t believe America would vote in a Black woman. That being former Vice President Kamala Harris.

However, after learning from her grandmother how important this year’s midterms were, she decided to re-register for voting. She said she made sure and make she’s registered in the city in which she lives, Atlanta. She said she was previously registered in her hometown of Savannah, GA.

Since her follow-up video, Cheaves has shared yet another. This time, she’s clarifying her comments about voting “since Obama.” The resulted in social media users trying to paint her as a liar. Cheaves admitted she misspoke. She then continued to encourage her fans to go out and vote, and make their voices heard.
