Jason Davis Cause Of Death Revealed As Accidental Fentanyl Overdose

The cause of death of Disney’s ‘Recess‘ voice actor Jason Davis has been revealed as an accidental overdose on fentanyl. per TMZ.

While authorities initially believed that the 35-year-old actor, who voiced the series’ character “Mikey Blumberg,” passed of a heroin overdose,  Los Angeles County Medical Examiner documents now show that the child actor died from the “effects of fentanyl.”

Additional factors were not listed in the report, but it does show that the overdose was by accident. Furthermore, Davis’ unresponsive body was found by authorities around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 16 at his LA home, and surrounding him they discovered burnt tin foil and other drug paraphernalia.

Davis previously battled addiction, and in 2011, was even arrested and charged for alleged heroin possession. After charges were dropped, in lieu of a drug diversion program, the actor attempted to become sober, even appearing on ‘Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.’

Davis eventually went on to co-found a charity called Cure Addiction Now, an organization created to assist in funding research for those suffering from substance abuse themselves.
