New England Patriots cornerback, Jack Jones is facing some legal trouble after being arrested Friday after two firearms were found in his travel luggage at Boston’s Lagan airport.
After the news began to surface on social media. Twitter users pulled up an old tweet from Jones on May 15th where he mentioned Ja Morant’s gun flashing incident. In the tweet Jones tagged Morant saying “@ JaMorant dumb..You letting social media and yo pride ruin yo real money. Put them guns down and run that money up. Make one of yo homies sign up for security or concealed carry if you feel like you need it that bad. But you the bread winner you got to start acting like it.”

Following the arrest, a Patriots spokesperson said Friday that the team had been notified of the arrest and that Patriots officials were gathering more information about the matter.
While Jones was at the airport Friday the guns were allegedly detected “during the routine X-ray screening of carry-on luggage” at the checkpoint, the Transportation Security Administration said in a statement, which didn’t identify Jones by name.
“Upon discovery of the firearm, TSA notified the Massachusetts State Police and they responded to the security checkpoint,” the agency said. “The traveler was questioned by law enforcement and subsequently arrested.”
As we previously reported, Ja Morant received a 25 game suspension for the 2023-2024 season after he was seen flashing a gun on Instagram live.
Following the suspension TMZ, obtained video footage of Morant recording himself showing the world that the alleged gun was only torch used to light candles.
After the news broke about his suspension he released a statement to his fans and kids that look up to him.
“I’ve had time to reflect and I realize how much hurt I’ve caused,” Morant said in the statement. “I want to apologize to the NBA, the Grizzlies, my teammates and the city of Memphis. To Adam Silver, Zach Kleiman and Robert Pera – who gave me the opportunity to be a professional athlete and have supported me, I’m sorry for the harm I’ve done.” He said.
He added, “to the kids who look up to me, I’m sorry for failing you as a role model. I promise I’m going to be better. To all my sponsors, I’m going to be a better representation of our brands. And to all my fans, I’m going to make it up to you, I promise.”
