Ja Rule wants his name out of the drama! The rap star is setting the record straight after Fat Joe slammed him for not sticking up for Ashanti as Irv Gotti brought up his alleged two decades-old romance with the singer on Drink Champs.
“Whatever Irv has with Ashanti is 20 years old,” Joe said while speaking on the topic during his Instagram Live. “I know he was making some points that mean a lot to him, his heart and soul, but when you keep ranting about somebody 20 years later, it felt like he’s not over the young lady. Also, we didn’t know that they was f*cking. ‘Cause the whole time, I’m there! ‘What’s Luv,’ Big Pun record, on tour — I never seen them together like that. Now I’m not saying they wasn’t; they was, or there was rumors they was. I never seen it. But I don’t need to know!” Fat Joe ultimately called Irv “a sucka” for the move but he also expressed disappointment in fellow rapper Jarule for not saying anything as he stood by during Irv’s interview on the show.
“It’s OK if it’s on a documentary — you gotta say your truth in your documentary — but to go to Drink Champs and keep calling her a b*tch, keep disrespecting — I’m not the guy to stand up for Ashanti. Ja Rule was standing right next to him,” Joe said before hitting a long pause. The “Clap Back” rapper is now responding to claims that he didn’t defend Ashanti. He wrote under our comment section this Tuesday, “STOP saying I didn’t defend sis and all women when I clearly told Gotti stop calling Ashanti/women the B word same way I told Joe at Verzuz watch the interview before you talk sh*t… NOW LEAVE ME TF OUT THESE GROWN FOLKS BUSINESS.”

As we previously reported, Irv said Ashanti’s song, “Happy” was created after they had sex … something that many people including Joe didn’t know. Ashanti hasn’t yet said anything publicly about her relationship with Irv since the Drink Champs interview dropped but her fans have since come to her defense.
Here’s what some fans had to say:
Irv Gotti beat the Feds in a million-dollar money-laundering trial but instead of telling that story, he chooses to talk about that time he slept with Ashanti 20 years ago.

I’m glad Fat Joe, PUBLICLY, called Irv Gotti out for talking about Ashanti and calling Ja Rule out for just standing there while he was saying the shit. You’re 52 years old still being bitter about something that shouldn’t never had happened 20 years ago. Creepy & cringey.

Irv Gotti really sounded like he felt betrayed by Ashanti. A married nigga feeling salty that his single “girlfriend” was stepping out with a single man. He was watching the game with his wife distraught seeing her & Nelly.
