Irv Gotti Accused Of Money Laundering In 2005

Now, there was a time back in the early 2000s when Gotti was caught up in a money laundering case.

He was wrongly accused of using his label to launder $1 million for convicted crack dealer Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff, of Queens’ legendary Supreme Team.

In 2005, Gotti and McGriff began working on a movie project after McGriff was released from prison.

Soon after, the duo caught the FBI’s attention and they began to laser focus on Gotti’s Murder Inc. label.

Federal investigators ended up raiding the label’s headquarters and later, they arrested Gotti.

Back in 2005, the feds claimed “that the Murder Inc. empire took in garbage bags and shoeboxes stuffed with drug money and laundered it for a notorious Queens crack and heroin kingpin.”

However, the music executive stood ten toes down on his innocence and claimed he was not guilty of any of the charges against him.

Those charges included him being accused of laundering $1 million.

Now, before Gotti was exonerated, he claimed Ashanti “ran like the cockroaches when you turn the lights on.”

He said, “She was ready to get the f **k off of the Murder Inc. label and she was ready to abandon me, the person who made her. And yes I can say I made her. How do you know I can say that firmly? The minute I stop making her records . . . She has not made a hit since.”

Even in his viral ‘Drink Champs‘ interview, Gotti recalled Ashanti jumping ship after Murder Inc. got raided and he was arrested.

He told hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ E.F.N.:

“A lot of people were [talking about] the 98 percent conviction rate.

So, she would be saying to me, emotionally crying, ‘They told me you’re going to go to jail.’ And I’m quite sure her people were telling her, ‘This is a good thing for you. You’re the hottest R&B motherf**ker. Gotti’s gonna go to jail, and you’re free.'”

Newsflash. Not guilty b*tch. Not guilty b*tch. you and your team, not guilty b*tch. I told all you motherf**kers I ain’t do it.” No one believed me.

There’s a lot of things they could’ve came at me for — well not a lot, but some things. But, with that? *shakes head no.*”
