Investigative Report Reveals Florida Labs Inflated Positive Coronavirus Results
Just days after the state set a new single-day record with over 15,000 new COVID-19 cases, an investigative report conducted by Fox35 Orlando revealed that Florida labs inflated their positive coronavirus results dramatically. As the Florida Department of Health released its daily COVID-19 testing report, showing a statewide positivity rate of 11%, the news outlet began an investigation.
Their findings revealed that multiple testing labs reported a 100% positivity rate, signaling that every single person tested contracted the virus. After reaching out to Centra Care (83 tested, 100% positivity), NCF Diagnostics (88% positivity) and Orlando Health (98% positivity), only the latter responded and admitted to reporting errors.

Officials at Orlando Health confirmed their positivity rate is only 9.4 percent, not 98 as they initially reported. While Orlando Veteran’s Medical Center reported a 76% positivity rate, a spokesperson told the news outlet that “this does not reflect their numbers and the positivity rate for the center is actually 6%.” The outlet reports that the other labs have yet to respond and explain their inflated rates.
