Hakim Rasul began giving back to his community with his clothing line ‘Centre Ville,’ which aims to help out the inner-city communities in Los Angeles. Centre Ville is French for “Inner City.” A portion of all of his sales goes back to the inner-cities.
“Our goal at Centre Ville is to be able to help our communities and that includes doing school supplies/backpack giveaways for the kids, feeding the homeless, turkey and Christmas tree giveaways during the holidays, and everything else possible. We aren’t just a clothing company but we are simply using clothing as a tool to give back and be a positive light on communities that are unfortunately forgotten by the outside world.”
In addition to his ongoing efforts, this past Saturday, April 11th, Rasul hosted a giveaway in Inglewood where he gave out “essential items” such as free hand sanitizer, toilet paper, anti-bacterial soap, cases of water, face masks, and multiple bottles of Hennessy.
While speaking with Rasul he says,
“Everything was free and took me weeks to buy from over 60 stores. Los Angeles just extended the lockdown for another month, so I figured this was the best time to help out the people that really need it in the communities, and can’t afford it right now”
