The planned biopic film about legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan has been scrapped following Hogan’s threat to “body slam” Vice President Kamala Harris, according to Atlanta Black Star.
As we previously shared, a video captured the wrestler drinking a beer on stage and fist-pumping in front of a cheering audience as he endorsed his brand. Tensions rose rapidly when he unexpectedly grabbed the microphone and issued a threat to “body slam” the Democratic presidential candidate. “Do you want me to body slam somebody? Want me to body slam Kamala Harris? I said, do you want me to body slam Kamala Harris?” he shouted. “Do you want me to drop the leg on Kamala?” He said in the video.
Director Todd Phillips revealed that the biopic titled “The Hulkster” is being shelved. As reported by Sports Illustrated, the film had been in development since 2019 and was set to feature Chris Hemsworth, known for his role as Thor. In a recent interview, the director of ‘The Hangover’ director stated that the film will not continue. “I love what we were trying to do, but that’s not going to come together for me,” Phillips said.
Recently, Trump criticized the vice president’s racial identity, inaccurately asserting that she had only highlighted her Asian-American heritage until recently when, according to him, “she became a black person.”
Last month, Hulk Hogan made an appearance at the Republican National Convention, delivering a speech in support of Trump. He also tore off his shirt to showcase a vest emblazoned with Trump’s name alongside his vice-presidential choice, JD Vance. These remarks from the former wrestler come as the Democrats convene this week in Chicago for their party’s convention, where they are set to officially endorse Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate for the upcoming November election.
