Disney is going red with their all-new film ‘Turning Red’ Featuring Rosalie Chiang, Sandra Oh, a fluffy red panda, and so many more.
Meilin (Mei) Lee, played by Chiang, is the typical 2000’s middle school girl who loves her friends, loves boy bands, wants independence, and of course, if going through puberty. But in her case, her puberty hits a little differently as Mei turns into a panda.
Through this film, audiences will see the story of how this panda “curse” came to be in the Lee family with Ming Lee, Mei’s mother, played by Oh, having the talk with her young daughter about why this happened.
Of course, what is the early 2000s without a little boy band crush, and in this case, Mei’s crush is Disney’s first-ever boy band ‘4-Town’.
With the rise of groups in the 2000s *NSYNC’s “It’s Gonna Be Me” plays at the opening of the film which sets the tone for our interview with Amee Shi (Director) and Lindsey Collins (Producer) as well as Sandra Oh (voice of “Ming”) and Rosalie Chiang (voice of “Mei Lee”).
We asked them to finish the lyrics from some of the top 2000s groups’ songs like Backstreet Boys, Boys To Men, NSYNC, Destinys Child, and even added a younger group, The Jonas Brothers,
