Hollywood Unlocked was in Hollywood an exclusive screening of one of Tyler Perry’s new shows on BET, “The Oval.”
The Paley Center was the hub for Tyler Perry’s new show “The Oval” as the cast and crew joined media for a special screening and a time of conversation.
We spoke with the cast who gave us a look into who they play on the show as well as the filming process as they are working at Perry’s new studio in Atlanta.

This show is making a lot of history when it comes not only to the storyline but the actual location of filming.
The cast shoots at the first-ever White House replica at Perry’s studio which is on land that actually use to be confederate property. As far as the actual storyline, it is one that flips the idea that fans are used to seeing when it comes to the portrayal of a family in the White House.
In “The Oval” the first family is biracial. The staff makes a good mix of both black and white characters, and the person in charge is actually the first lady. This is something that fans not only are new to but have gravitated towards.
In their cast interview following the screening, each actor shared how they are viewed by the fans on social media and each of them had only positive things to say as the fans are super engaging on platforms like Twitter.
