Despite the current stay at home orders, Hollywood Unlocked is still giving you the keys to the 2020 virtual BET awards.
This year’s awards show is a little different not just because of the current social restrictions, but the social climate that we are living in today!
Hosted by Insecure star Amanda Seales, The show started off with a video montage of the various protests that have been taking the place following the killing of Geroge Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and more. Those videos played over Public Enemy’s 1989Â hit song “Fight The Power” joined by Nas, Black Thought, Quest Love, Rapsody, Jahi, and YG.
This year given that we were not physically able to be on a carpet, we got to speak via Zoom to nominees Jacquees, The Clark Sisters, and John P. Kee.
