Hollywood Unlocked was in the building as  filmmakers Lena Waithe and Melina Matsoukas gave us an advanced preview of their first feature film “Queen & Slim”

On Friday, we stepped into the Underground Museum, in Los Angeles for a star studded screening with Black Hollywood. The screening was hosted by Solange and ended with a Q&A with The Evis Mitchell, with a chance to speak to Lena and Melina.

Stars in attendance included, Kelly Rowland (Singer), Lance Gross (Actor, Star), Michael Ealy (Actor, Being Mary Jane), Miguel & his Nazanin Mandi (Musician), Shiona Turini (Costume Designer, Queen & Slim), JoJo (Musician), Kendrick Sampson (Actor, Insecure),Keith Powers (The New Edition Story)  DeWanda Wise (Actress, She’s Gotta Have It), Estelle (Musician), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Gabrielle Dennis (Actress, A Black Lady Sketch Show, Luke Cage), Lil Rel Howery (Actor, Southside)), Logan Browning (Actress, Dear White People), Will Catlett (Actor, Black Lightning) and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, (Actor, US) Y’lan Noel (insecure) and Angie Beyince (Influencer), Isis King (When They See Us).

We can’t reveal any spoilers, but Queen & Slim gives us a reality check and puts us face to face with the problems in today’s society. It grabs your emotion and takes you on a roller coaster ride that won’t forget.
