Fresh off the celebration of hip-hop’s 53rd birthday, The Hip Hop Museum welcomed artists, executives, media personalities, DJs, managers, publicists, creatives, and cultural tastemakers to New York City for Hip Hop 53: Bridging Legacy with the Next Generation of the Culture.
Held at Aura 57, the event celebrated hip-hop’s lasting influence while creating space for established pioneers and the next generation of creators to connect, collaborate, and honor the culture’s continued evolution.
Melissa Gabriel and Artist Committee Lead the Celebration
The event was curated and led by The Hip Hop Museum Artist Committee member Melissa Gabriel, in collaboration with fellow Artist Committee member Tiara Gray.

Additional contributions and support were provided by Crystal G and Senyon K, helping bring together an evening centered on recognition, networking, and celebrating the people who continue to shape hip-hop across music, media, fashion, and business.
Hennessy, PUMA × SNIPES USA and Slapwoods Help Power the Event
The celebration was powered by Hennessy and presented in partnership with Slapwoods, with special gifting provided by PUMA × SNIPES USA.

Guests enjoyed curated Hennessy cocktails, explored the Slapwoods Flavor Lounge, received custom cigars, and each recognized honoree left with a pair of exclusive PUMA × SNIPES USA sneakers.

The evening served as both a tribute to hip-hop’s rich legacy and a reminder that the culture continues to evolve through the artists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries carrying it forward into the next generation.
